MICHAEL E. GAGLIARDIHSBC Halbis Partners
Effective June 1 2005 HSBC Halbis Partners puchased the Atlantic Advisors. Michael Gagliardi is a Managing Director and Portfolio Head at HSBC Halbis Partners. Previously, Mr. Gagliardi was Chief Executive Officer of TC Atlantic, and served as a Senior Portfolio Manager for TC Atlantic funds. He was formerly a founding partner and CEO of Wasserstein Perella Emerging Markets (WPEM now Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein) from 1993 through 1999.
Prior to WPEM, he was Director of Emerging Markets at UBS (formerly Swiss Bank Corporation). Mr. Gagliardi is one of the most experienced global debt professionals in the marketplace, having traded products since 1985 from Asia, Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe. Mr. Gagliardi developed a successful emerging markets funds management operation at UBS, and prior to UBS, he helped organize and build the emerging markets group at JP Morgan from 1985-1991.
Mr. Gagliardi obtained his B.A. from Fairfield University and his M.B.A. from Pace University. Mr. Gagliardi has served on EMTA’s Board of Directors as well as the Board of Trustees Advisory Council at Fairfield University.
Mr. Gagliardi was elected to EMTA's Board in April 2002.
